When it rains it pours

Well hopefully it won't rain as I am entertaining the idea of an outside wedding ceremony and inside outside wedding reception. The place that I took my mom to look at has a grassy area outside that could accommodate tables and chairs. Bryan also brought up the idea of using ferns and an arch for the ceremony. I think something like this would be charming.

Not only that but aside from making or renting the arch it would be almost free!

I think that the wedding will end up being more green with touches of pink. Although if it was solely up to me the entire wedding would be barbie pink.
Heres our idea for wedding invites: I am posting the link because the image isn't very clear when uploaded to this blog. http://www.vponsale.com/invitations/dryad-wedding-invitations-twi077-p-536.html . Ideally I would like some aspect of this to be pink.

EDIT: More wedding decoration ideas.

My mom mentioned some wreaths for a door: I saw this one taken from http://marissadenae.wordpress.com/tag/pew-decorations/ and even a tutorial !

I also think this one is amazing, especially if it had some dark pink roses thrown in.

Lastly, I think this one is very whimsical and slightly vintage, and is so far my favorite replace those red roses with pink and I think we have a winner!

Changes

So after talking and just realizing that we don't want to wait til next may to get married we have decided to change the wedding date to October 23, 2010. While we haven't been engaged that long, I worry and like to have everything planned well in advance, if not I feel anxious. I also feel that planning in advance will give us a chance to DIY our decorations and food. I feel like some of the ideas we have for the reception can include food that we buy in advance and freeze. If we decide on a menu now, if it is possible to freeze ingredients we could could just spend a little extra when we go shopping for weekly groceries and have plenty saved up by October.

Also because of an October wedding we are planning on changing the shades of pink and green to more rich colors. This is kind of a pallet I have in mind:
The venue we want to use is small and will take some adjusting to make sure their is adequate seating and table room as well as dancing room. These colors will also compliment the venue with has some Asian as well as contemporary elements. I also think that this change in color will help also bring together the vintage feel I want.
My mom has several silver serving platters and punch bowls that will also compliment the theme. I also have access to silver chafing dishes and white Christmas lights.

Timing is such an important issue, we are not wanting to take the space and do not have the money to have a large sit down wedding reception, so an early afternoon wedding followed by a cocktail reception. I would like to have the option of having a longer wedding reception but I think the Fiance and I are ok with having an afternoon wedding and dinnerless reception. I am sure by dinner time I would be exhausted anyways.

I Those are might thoughts for now! Wanted to update since I hadn't for some time.
