A close friend of bryan and I's texted me today to say she picked up a clear vase. I had told her I wanted clear vases to put water and pears in, like this:
While I am sure the general design might change, I would like to put them in water and float candles on top. I think it would be very ecletic to have vases of different sizes and shapes as centerpieces on the table. In addition pears tie our color scheme together as well. I know much of our decorating will come from borrowing things from other people. My friend who just got married has told me that I can borrow some of the things she used for her wedding, I imagine that we will really save money on decor through repurposing things that our friends and family have.
If we are able to have our reception at the place I want to, it is very industrial inside, so to soften the look I want to string pink christmas lights from the ceiling. Having the pink above and green and the table will tie things together!
Now if only I could find prices on whole sale pears!
I have these things for you to borrow:
ReplyDelete- votives (empty)
- white birds
- some Xmas lights
- 4-5 VERY fancy chaffing dishes (so you don't have to rent, and they're super nice too)
Assuming Still Not Sold:
- (14) 120" round white satin tablecloths (assuming not sold yet)
- forks/knives
Available from our Forest for FREE!:
- baby pinecones
- acorns
- green ivy(lasts up to a week still fresh)
- fresh green moss
- sticks and stuff
"Now if only I could find prices on whole sale pears!" - if you know someone in the restaurant industry, ask them to buy a case for you wholesale. Sam's is too f*king expensive. Also look at farmers' markets- not sure where though :)
ReplyDeleteI know that I can get a case at publix for $100.
ReplyDeleteIvy would be cool, my mom wants me to have shamrocks, thing is she can turn anything into an irish custom so I am sure she can work with ivy lol.
YES YES I NEED THE CHAFFING DISHES! I thought you had rented them or they were from your parents reasturant so I didn't want to ask, but that way we could make some of the food outselves and keep it hot!
DAMN RIGHT!!! And only you too, I wouldn't want to lend them out
ReplyDeleteYeah, not to sound tacky but you can have a very few number of people making some of the hot foods to put in the Chafing Dishes(like your mom or someone who likes to cook) to reduce the amount of food to be prepared too!
aaaaaaannnnnnnnnnddddddddd if you need decor help/ideas, you know I'm heeeeeerrrrrrreee!!!
ReplyDeleteOh yea when the wedding is closer I hope we can make some foods ahead of time to freeze or at least prepare a couple days in advance. so that all that has to be done day of is heat it up!
